The assault was part of a broader wave of strikes targeting civilian infrastructure across eastern, southern, and central Ukraine, with additional attacks reported in the Synelnykivskyi district and the central region of Poltava. Fires broke out, and both residential buildings and agricultural enterprises suffered damage. Ukrainian emergency services emphasized that the attacks targeted solely civilian infrastructure. The escalation comes as both Russian and Ukrainian leaders signaled a willingness to negotiate an agreement to ban strikes on civilian sites, potentially marking the first direct talks since early in the war.
