£3.5m Finham Park 2 Expansion Adds Classrooms, Sports Facilities Coventry

Construction projects are underway to expand educational and sports facilities at several schools in Coventry and Plymouth. At Finham Park 2 secondary school in Coventry, a £3.5 million expansion includes a new office building with 14 offices, conversion of existing offices into five classrooms, enhanced outdoor sports facilities, and increased parking with electric vehicle charging points, enabling the school to grow its student capacity to 900 by the 2028-2029 academic year. This project is part of a broader effort to ease secondary school place pressures in Coventry and improve educational and extracurricular offerings. In addition, Lyng Hall School in Coventry is constructing a £2.3 million four-court sports hall with a weights room, fitness suite, and changing rooms to support its growing student body, expected to complete by late 2025. Meanwhile, Plymouth is seeing a £5 million transformation of a historic city center building into a dental clinic and education practice that will provide urgent dental care and clinical training opportunities, addressing long NHS waiting lists and practitioner shortages.
