Five-Star Trinity Jones Commits to Clemson

Naperville Central standout Trinity Jones (about 6-foot-1) announced on Oct. 27 that she has committed to Clemson, choosing the Tigers over Tennessee, LSU, UCLA, TCU and Oklahoma. Jones is a nationally ranked five-star prospect (rankings roughly No. 7–11) and is Clemson’s highest-ranked recruit since 2022 and the program’s first five-star under second-year coach Shawn Poppie. She missed her junior high school season after tearing an ACL but returned for club play and was part of the USA Basketball team that went 6–0 to win gold at the 2023 FIBA U16 Americas Championship, averaging about 9.5 points and 6.7 rebounds. Jones said she picked Clemson because it felt like a “family fit,” she trusts Poppie and the staff, and the Tigers’ versatile yet structured style suits her game. Her commitment joins several other top-60 pledges in Clemson’s 2026 class and bolsters Poppie’s recruiting push as he looks to raise the program’s profile and return the Tigers to the NCAA tournament for the first time since 2019.
