Celebrities Join 2025 NYC Marathon Nov. 2

The 2025 New York City Marathon will run on Sunday, November 2, 2025, beginning at Fort Wadsworth on Staten Island with staggered morning starts and more than 50,000 participants traversing all five boroughs before finishing in Central Park. The course crosses the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge into Brooklyn, continues through Queens and Manhattan, detours into the Bronx via the Madison and Willis Avenue bridges, and race materials list road closures including McClean Avenue/Battery Road and West Drive. ABC’s Good Morning America will provide live coverage, with Will Reeve co-anchoring. The field mixes elite athletes and charity runners, including Indigenous Marathon Foundation participant Jack Atkinson and sporting figures Jonathan Thurston and Lance 'Buddy' Franklin. Charity-focused entrants include former pitcher Danny Burawa, who is raising funds for North Shore Animal League America, and Clinton native Dawson Green, running to benefit Ronald McDonald House Charities.
