Women’s Caribbean Premier League 2025 Set for September in Guyana

The fourth edition of the Women’s Caribbean Premier League (WCPL) is scheduled to take place from September 6 to 17, 2025, with all matches hosted at the Providence Stadium in Guyana. The tournament will feature three teams: Guyana Amazon Warriors, Trinbago Knight Riders, and Barbados Royals, who are the two-time defending champions having won in 2023 and 2024. Each team will play four league matches in a round-robin format, followed by a final on September 17. Matches will be held in the afternoon, with some scheduled as double-headers alongside the men's Caribbean Premier League games, enhancing fan engagement. Cricket West Indies CEO Chris Dehring emphasized the growing importance of the WCPL in the cricket calendar, highlighting the tournament's role in showcasing Caribbean talent alongside international stars. Barbados Royals' Hayley Matthews remains the standout player, leading in both runs and wickets in WCPL history, while CPL CEO Pete Russell expressed commitment to building on the tournament's success to promote women's cricket across the region.
