Israel Strikes Militants Crossing Gaza's Yellow Line

Israeli air and ground forces struck and killed several militants who crossed the Yellow Line and approached IDF positions in southern Gaza and Gaza City, the military said, saying the individuals posed an immediate threat. The IDF said it acted quickly to remove the threat and that its troops remain deployed in accordance with the ceasefire while confronting immediate dangers. Palestinian media reported at least one person was killed in a strike in Gaza City’s eastern Shejaiya neighborhood. Hamas, through mediators, has demanded temporary immunity for operatives hidden in tunnels on the Israeli side of the Yellow Line in Rafah, but the IDF and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office say no safe passage will be allowed without disarmament. Separately, President Isaac Herzog warned against political violence during the 30th anniversary memorial for Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin, urging zero tolerance for violence.
