Denver Man Arrested for Berthoud Fatal Shooting

A Denver man, identified as Ebenezer Worku, has been arrested and charged with first-degree murder—extreme indifference—in connection with the fatal shooting of a woman inside her Berthoud, Colorado home on April 28. Police responded to a 911 call around 11:20 p.m. and found the woman deceased at the scene despite attempts to provide first aid. Several other people were present in the home during the incident but were not injured. Worku, age 19 or 20, was arrested on May 1 and is being held in the Larimer County Jail on a $1.25 million cash-only bond. The victim's identity will be released after notification of next of kin, and the investigation remains ongoing with authorities urging anyone with information to come forward.
