Hyundai Motor Group, NVIDIA Announce $3B AI Factory Investment in Korea

Hyundai Motor Group and NVIDIA have expanded their partnership with a $3 billion investment to develop Korea's physical AI sector, focusing on autonomous vehicles, robotics, and smart factory innovations. Central to this collaboration is the establishment of an AI factory powered by NVIDIA's Blackwell AI infrastructure, which will utilize 50,000 GPUs for integrated AI model training, validation, and deployment. Hyundai plans to leverage NVIDIA's Omniverse and Cosmos platforms to create digital twins of manufacturing plants and driving environments, accelerating robot integration and autonomous driving development. The partnership also includes cooperation with the Korean government to build national AI infrastructure and nurture local AI talent, supporting a physical AI ecosystem. Additionally, Hyundai is advancing proprietary large language models and AI-powered vehicle functions using NVIDIA’s Nemotron and NeMo software frameworks, with over-the-air updates ensuring continual vehicle improvement. This collaboration marks a shift towards joint innovation of core physical AI technologies aimed at transforming mobility solutions and manufacturing processes.
