Mohamed Salah Wins Third Consecutive PFA Player of Year Award
Mohamed Salah has made history by winning the Professional Footballers' Association (PFA) Player of the Year award for the third time, following a stellar 2024-25 season where he led Liverpool to the Premier League title with 29 goals and 18 assists. This achievement also saw him claim the Premier League Player of the Season, the Golden Boot, and the Playmaker award, becoming the first player to secure all three in a single season. Alongside Salah, Liverpool had three other players—Virgil van Dijk, Ryan Gravenberch, and Alexis Mac Allister—named in the Premier League Team of the Year, underscoring the club's dominance. Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers was awarded Young Player of the Year, while Arsenal’s Mariona Caldentey won the Women’s Player of the Year and Olivia Smith, who recently transferred to Arsenal in a historic million-pound deal, claimed the Women’s Young Player of the Year. The awards highlighted a stark contrast with Manchester United and Manchester City, who had no players named in the men's Premier League Team of the Year, reflecting their recent struggles. The ceremony also recognized players from lower leagues, including James Trafford for the Championship and Richard Kone for League One.
