Ange Postecoglou Expected Tottenham Sack Before Europa League Win
Ange Postecoglou revealed that he anticipated being sacked by Tottenham Hotspur well before leading the club to their first trophy in 17 years by winning the Europa League. Despite this historic victory over Manchester United, his position was precarious following a poor Premier League season where Tottenham finished 17th with 22 defeats. Postecoglou described the decision as unsurprising and acknowledged that while the ending was difficult, he cherished the success and the support of the fans, many of whom still express affection towards him. Shortly after his departure, he was appointed head coach of Nottingham Forest, where he has been tasked with elevating the club and pursuing silverware. Reflecting on his tenure at Spurs, he emphasized the challenges faced, the strong relationships formed, and his pride in the achievements made during his two years. The change in Tottenham’s leadership, including the exit of chairman Daniel Levy who made the decision to sack him, marks a new chapter for the club.
