BBC Confirms Balamory Revival With Original Cast

The BBC has announced that Balamory will return in 2026 with two seasons, each featuring ten 14-minute episodes, to be broadcast on CBeebies and BBC iPlayer. Original stars Julie Wilson Nimmo (Miss Hoolie), Andrew Agnew (PC Plum), Kim Tserkezie (Penny Pocket), and Juliet Cadzow (Edie McCredie) will reprise their roles, joined by new characters Ava Potts (Danielle Jam), the Harbour Master (William Andrews), and Dr Ollie (Carl Spencer). Filming will take place in Glasgow and the Isle of Mull's Tobermory, the inspiration for the show's setting. The revival will mix nostalgic elements with new stories, comedy, songs, and adventures. Some fans have expressed disappointment at the absence of original characters like Archie the Inventor. BBC Children's commissioner Kate Morton emphasized the show's appeal to both new audiences and adults who remember the original series.
