Hit-and-Run Kills Motorcyclist, Nashville Police Seek Driver
James C. Sellars, a 33-year-old motorcyclist from Hendersonville, was killed in a hit-and-run crash at the intersection of Old Hickory Boulevard and Pitts Avenue in Nashville when a silver Mercedes SUV struck him from behind while he was stopped at a red light. The collision pushed Sellars and his Kawasaki CR 1000 into a traffic pole, resulting in his death at the scene. The Mercedes SUV, described as a smaller style vehicle, sustained front-end damage including a missing front bumper, which was found at the crash site, but the driver fled the scene continuing southbound on Old Hickory Boulevard. Metro Nashville Police are actively searching for the driver and have asked the public for assistance, urging anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers. Callers can remain anonymous and may qualify for a cash reward. Authorities have released no additional details as investigations continue.
