Justin Baldoni’s Insurer Sues Over Exclusion in Blake Lively Harassment Coverage

Justin Baldoni and his production company, Wayfarer Studios, are being sued by their insurance provider, Harco National Insurance Company, which argues it is not obligated to cover the sexual harassment claims made by actress Blake Lively. Harco's lawsuit, filed in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, states that the alleged misconduct occurred between April and June 2023, before the insurance policies covering July 2023 to July 2025 took effect. The insurer contends that Wayfarer failed to disclose prior complaints during the insurance application process, which would exclude coverage under the policies. Harco seeks a court declaration confirming the policies do not cover Lively's claims, emphasizing that Wayfarer warranted no knowledge of any potential claims at the time of application, and any undisclosed prior knowledge voids coverage. Lively originally sued Baldoni, Wayfarer, and others in late 2024, alleging harassment and retaliation on the set of "It Ends With Us," while Baldoni countersued for defamation. Harco’s suit highlights a dispute over coverage of costly litigation related to these allegations, with the insurer requesting a declaratory ruling that it is not liable for defense or damages.
