Astros Recall J.P. France from Triple-A to Strengthen Bullpen

The Houston Astros have recalled right-hander J.P. France from Triple-A Sugar Land to join their bullpen as a multi-inning reliever during their series against the Toronto Blue Jays. France, who underwent shoulder surgery last July, had been optioned to Triple-A after being reinstated from the injured list and has made several relief appearances there, including a five-inning start allowing one run. France had a challenging 2024 and much of 2025 due to his injury and previous performance struggles, but the Astros are now looking to utilize him in a relief role rather than as a starter. Logan VanWey was optioned to Triple-A in the corresponding roster move.
