Digital Edge, B.Grimm Invest $1B in 100MW Thai Data Center
Digital Edge, a Singapore-based data center platform backed by Stonepeak, has partnered with Thailand's energy producer B.Grimm Power to develop hyperscale, AI-ready data centers in Thailand, including a flagship 100-megawatt greenfield project in the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC). The joint venture, Digital Edge B.Grimm (TH) Holdings Pte Ltd, aims to fast-track construction with a target ready-for-service date in Q4 2026 to meet growing AI infrastructure demands in Southeast Asia. The $1 billion development will leverage renewable energy, combining cutting-edge data center technology with sustainable power to support Thailand's ambition to become a regional AI and cloud innovation hub. B.Grimm Power expects data center revenue to comprise an increasing share of its profits, with plans for a second-phase expansion reaching 300MW in the long term. This initiative aligns with Thailand’s broader digital transformation and infrastructure development plans, supported by government investments to position the EEC as a financial and smart city hub by 2030. Other tech giants, including Google and Microsoft, are also investing heavily in Thailand’s data center sector, reflecting the region's rising importance in the digital economy.
