Mac Jones, Piñeiro Lead 49ers' OT Win

The San Francisco 49ers defeated the Los Angeles Rams 26-23 in overtime at SoFi Stadium to move to 4-1. Eddy Piñeiro kicked the 41-yard game-winning field goal in overtime and had earlier drilled a 59-yarder late in regulation. Mac Jones, filling in for an injured Brock Purdy, passed for 342 yards and two touchdowns. Rookie Alfred Collins forced and recovered Kyren Williams’ goal-line fumble in the final minute of regulation, and Chase Lucas—with help from Deommodore Lenoir and Marques Sigle—stopped the Rams on fourth-and-1 in overtime. Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford threw for 389 yards and Joshua Karty’s 48-yard field goal with two seconds left sent the game to overtime, underscoring the 49ers’ depth amid injuries.
