Building America's Future (BAF), a political action committee backed by billionaire Elon Musk, is investing over $1 million in a national ad campaign promoting the 'One Big Beautiful Bill Act' recently signed into law by President Donald Trump, despite Musk's earlier vehement criticism of the bill. The 30-second ad titled 'Independence,' airing on Fox News, praises the legislation for tax cuts benefiting working families, including doubling the child tax credit and reducing taxes on tips, overtime, and seniors. Musk had previously condemned the bill as a 'disgusting abomination' and pledged to support primary challengers against Republicans who voted for it, even announcing the formation of a new political entity, the America Party. However, BAF diverges from Musk's stance by endorsing the bill and commending Trump, Senate Majority Leader John Thune, and House Speaker Mike Johnson for their leadership in passing it. This paradoxical dynamic underscores Musk's complex political positioning, as he simultaneously donates significant funds to Trump’s MAGA movement and the GOP while publicly criticizing some of their policies.
