Jon Stewart Renewed Amid Paramount Sale
Paramount and Comedy Central announced Jon Stewart has extended his deal to remain executive producer and the Monday-night host of The Daily Show through December 2026, with terms undisclosed. The show's correspondents — including Ronny Chieng, Josh Johnson, Jordan Klepper, Michael Kosta and Desi Lydic — will continue rotating hosting duties Tuesday through Thursday, and the series has seen rising ratings and recent Emmy recognition. The renewal follows months of uncertainty after Paramount's sale to Skydance/RedBird and a wave of corporate moves, including CBS’s decision to cancel Stephen Colbert’s Late Show and cost-cutting at Paramount. Stewart has publicly criticized those moves and said he intends to stay at the network and keep fighting from inside; Comedy Central called the extension a win for audiences amid industry restructuring.
