Four Men Jailed for Callous Murder of Taxi Passenger in Newham
Four men have been sentenced for the brutal killing of 26-year-old Anselam Senaj, who was fatally stabbed in the back of a taxi in East Ham on November 11, 2023. The attack was executed by a group using a stolen vehicle to block the taxi, leading to a violent assault where Senaj was stabbed through the window. Muhammad Saqib Khan, the main assailant, received a life sentence of 26 years for murder, while Muhammad Samiyul Miah was sentenced to 25 years. Ibrahim Naim and Zain Ali received 10.5 and 14 years for manslaughter, respectively. The court highlighted that Senaj had warned the taxi driver of the impending danger moments before the attack, which was linked to drug-related motives. The case has drawn attention to the dangers of gang violence and the criminal underbelly associated with drug dealing in London.
