Tom Bateman has been cast as the male lead, Dr. Adam Carlsen, in the film adaptation of Ali Hazelwood's bestselling romantic comedy novel, "The Love Hypothesis," alongside Lili Reinhart who plays Olive Smith, a biology PhD candidate. The story centers on their characters entering a fake relationship that challenges their preconceived notions about love. Notably, the novel originated as a "Star Wars" fanfiction inspired by the relationship between Rey and Kylo Ren, with Bateman's real-life wife, Daisy Ridley, having played Rey in the film franchise, adding an intriguing meta connection.
