Kevin Bacon Fails to Secure Role in Spinal Tap Sequel
Kevin Bacon expressed his eagerness to join the cast of the upcoming sequel, Spinal Tap II: The End Continues, during an appearance on The View, where he revealed he wanted to play one of the infamous 'exploding drummers.' Despite his attempts to reach director Rob Reiner, Bacon confirmed he did not secure a role in the film, which is a follow-up to the iconic 1984 mockumentary. He reminisced about the original film's running joke regarding the mysterious disappearances of the band's drummers. The sequel will feature returning stars Christopher Guest, Michael McKean, and Harry Shearer, along with cameos from music legends like Paul McCartney and Elton John. The film is scheduled for release in the U.S. on September 12, 2025. Co-hosts Ana Navarro and Sunny Hostin encouraged Bacon to keep his hopes alive for a third installment of the franchise.
