Chevrolet Plans Affordable 2027 Bolt EV With Tesla Charging

Chevrolet is set to revive the Bolt EV for the 2027 model year, with production slated to begin in late 2025. The new Bolt will adopt the larger, more crossover-like Bolt EUV body style with updated front and rear designs, including new LED headlamps and taillights, while retaining a compact size suitable for urban driving. A significant update is the switch to the North American Charging Standard (NACS), allowing compatibility with Tesla's extensive Supercharger network, improving charging speed and convenience. The 2027 Bolt will feature GM’s new lithium-iron-phosphate (LFP) battery technology, which is safer, more cost-effective, and durable, although exact range details remain undisclosed. GM aims to keep the Bolt affordable, with pricing expected around $30,000, and the model positioned as Chevrolet’s entry-level EV, sharing its Ultium platform with other GM models.
