Trump Urges FCC Review, Also Attacks ABC
President Donald Trump posted an old, unflattering photo of Rev. Al Sharpton on Truth Social and mocked him while urging the Federal Communications Commission to “look into” NBC’s broadcast license, accusing the network of pro‑Democrat bias. He also attacked ABC as overwhelmingly negative toward Republicans and invoked Sharpton’s role in the Tawana Brawley controversy while calling Sharpton’s weekend program “one of the lowest rated shows in television history,” blaming Comcast CEO Brian Roberts for not canceling it because of political correctness. Multiple outlets noted Trump appeared to confuse NBC with MSNBC — where Sharpton’s PoliticsNation actually airs — and that Comcast/NBCUniversal is in the process of spinning MSNBC into a separate company. Observers say the posts continue a pattern in which Trump has suggested stripping broadcast licenses from outlets he says are hostile to him.
