Elden Ring Nightreign Adds Duo Expeditions July 30

Elden Ring: Nightreign, a popular co-op action game set in the Elden Ring universe, is receiving a significant update on July 30, 2025, that introduces a highly requested two-player Duo Expeditions mode. Previously, players had to form teams of three or rely on matchmaking to find a third player, which often led to frustrating experiences due to lack of communication and random teammates. The update will also bring quality-of-life improvements, including enhanced UI features and more Relics filtering options, aiming to streamline gameplay and character management. Nightreign features a roguelike structure with a shrinking map and nightly boss battles culminating in a fight against the Nightlord, with each run offering a unique experience due to changing environments and enemies. While the new Duo mode promises a full two-player experience without AI teammates, it may present increased difficulty due to fewer players in combat, and balancing adjustments are expected. Cross-play remains unavailable, so players must team up on the same platform or console family to play together.
