Airbnb Expands With Services and Celebrity Experiences

Airbnb has overhauled its app and platform, launching new features that expand its offerings beyond home rentals. Users can now book a range of 'Airbnb Services'—including private chefs, spa treatments, trainers, and beauty services—without needing to reserve accommodation, across 260 cities in 10 categories. The 'Airbnb Experiences' section has been enhanced to include curated activities in 650 cities, with a new 'Originals' tier of celebrity-hosted events. All service providers are vetted for quality, licensing, and experience, with many holding Michelin stars or industry awards. The update introduces an Explore tab, improved itinerary management, and better messaging, aiming to unify trip planning within one app. Airbnb's leadership describes these changes as transformational, positioning the platform to rival traditional hospitality providers.
