Felon Arrested With Weapons at Palm Beach Airport

Michael Rodrigues, 41, was arrested at Palm Beach International Airport after sheriff's deputies found him in a restricted area with a loaded AR-15 rifle, a fully loaded magazine, a machete, and several knives concealed in his rental vehicle around 7:10 a.m. Airport staff reported Rodrigues after observing him getting dressed outside the car. Deputies found the loaded magazine in the glove compartment and additional weapons during a search. Rodrigues, a convicted felon, faces charges including trespassing in an operational airport area, possession of firearms by a convicted felon, and possession of cocaine. Authorities stated that no threats were made, the motive is still under investigation, and President Trump was not in Florida at the time. The investigation is ongoing.
