Billy Idol, Avril Lavigne Release New Single '77' Ahead of Album Launch

Billy Idol is set to release his first new album in over a decade, 'Dream Into It,' on April 25, featuring collaborations with Avril Lavigne, Joan Jett, and Alison Mosshart. The album includes the pop-punk influenced single '77' with Lavigne, which both artists will perform live on 'Jimmy Kimmel Live!' on April 28. Idol describes the album as a chronological story of his life, a departure from traditional track listings that prioritized singles. Following the album's release, Idol will embark on a North American tour with Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, with additional European dates planned for the summer. Idol is also nominated for the 2025 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame class, and a documentary about his life will premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival in June. The collaboration with Lavigne has been praised by Idol for bringing the song to life and enhancing its appeal.
