Home Health Aide Arrested for Stabbing Elderly Long Island Patient

A 23-year-old home health aide, Amanda Fraser, has been arrested and charged with attempted murder after allegedly stabbing her 85-year-old patient, Wendy Wilson, in her Massapequa, Long Island home. The incident occurred while Wilson was asleep, and home security footage reportedly captured the aide climbing into bed with the victim before the attack. After stabbing Wilson in the chest, Fraser allegedly attempted to ram the house with a car before fleeing the scene. Wilson was discovered the following morning by a daytime caregiver and was hospitalized in critical condition, suffering a punctured lung requiring surgery. The stabbing incident prompted local schools to implement a 90-minute lockdown as a precaution. Authorities continue to investigate the motives behind the attack and have stated Fraser will be arraigned when medically practical.
