OKX Becomes First Global Exchange with MiCA Pre-Authorization

OKX has achieved a significant milestone by becoming the first global cryptocurrency exchange to secure pre-authorization under the Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) framework in Europe. This pre-authorization allows OKX to offer regulated crypto services to over 400 million people in the European Economic Area (EEA) from its Malta hub, which will provide features such as OTC trading, spot trading, and bot trading across more than 240 cryptocurrencies. The platform will also support local languages and euro-based trading pairs, enhancing accessibility for European customers. Once fully licensed, OKX plans to utilize the passporting feature of MiCA to expand its services to all 30 EEA member states, ensuring a consistent user experience across borders. The company's commitment to transparency and compliance is underscored by its existing Class 4 VASP license from the Malta Financial Services Authority (MFSA). OKX aims to redefine the crypto experience for both retail and institutional users with innovative products and advanced technology.
