Two Human Remains Cases Under Investigation

Authorities are investigating two separate cases involving the discovery of human remains during missing persons searches in Clay County, Florida, and Florence County, South Carolina. In Clay County, remains were found in a wooded area during the search for Alfred Waymon Munson, but positive identification is pending. In Florence County, Charles Antwine Jr. was arrested and charged with desecration of human remains after deputies discovered body parts in plastic containers at his Lake City residence, following the disappearance of both Antwine and Christy Ward from Brunswick County, N.C. The investigation began after Antwine’s submerged car was found near Lynches River boat landing and a strong odor was noticed at his home. The remains are believed to be Ward’s, pending autopsy confirmation, and additional charges against Antwine are anticipated. Both investigations are ongoing, with authorities requesting information from the public.
