Leeds Crossbow Attacker Dies from Self-Inflicted Injury

Owen Lawrence, 38, was identified by police as the sole suspect behind a crossbow and firearm attack in Leeds that left two women critically injured. The attack occurred on Saturday in the Headingley area, where police responded to reports of a man armed with weapons and found three injured individuals: two female victims, aged 19 and 31, and Lawrence himself. The women were hospitalized, with one discharged over the weekend and the other in stable condition following surgery. Lawrence was arrested but died in the hospital from a self-inflicted injury. Counter Terrorism Policing North East is leading an extensive investigation, although authorities do not believe anyone else was involved. Police are also examining Lawrence's online activity, including unverified posts suggesting motives related to revenge, terrorism, and extremist views.
