Delhi Government Plans AI Training for School Teachers

The Delhi government is launching a program to train teachers in state-run schools to use artificial intelligence (AI) tools for non-teaching tasks such as creating presentations, generating ideas for extracurricular activities, and editing photos. The initiative aims to free up teachers' time for classroom instruction by automating repetitive responsibilities and is designed to reassure educators that AI is meant to support rather than replace them. Around 100 computer science teachers will be selected as master trainers to learn these AI tools and subsequently train other teachers in 50 government schools, with ongoing feedback to ensure effective adoption. Sample AI tools mentioned include 'Napkin' for converting text to images and 'Gamma' for quickly creating PowerPoint presentations.
