Milford Police K-9 Rescues Missing Autistic Boy Clinging to Tree in Pond
An 8-year-old nonverbal boy with autism was safely rescued in Milford, Massachusetts after escaping his home through a first-floor window. His mother called 911, prompting a search by Milford police, including K-9 Officer Brian Sanchioni and his dog, Titan. Titan tracked the child's scent along a stream for about 600 feet, then jumped into the water and located the boy clinging to a tree on the bank of a pond, partially submerged and in distress. The child was quickly reunited with his family and taken to a medical center for evaluation. Milford Police Chief Robert Tusino praised the K-9 unit's vital role in the successful outcome, highlighting the importance of such resources in emergency situations.
