Evacuation Flights Carrying Israelis, Foreigners Land in Slovakia, Czechia Amid Iran-Israel Conflict

In response to escalating conflict between Israel and Iran, several European countries, including Slovakia, the Czech Republic, and Poland, have organized evacuation flights to repatriate their citizens from Israel and neighboring countries. Slovakia received an evacuation flight carrying 73 people, including Slovak citizens and others from various European countries, and plans additional flights involving citizens from multiple nations. The Czech Republic will dispatch its own repatriation flight from Israel to Prague while also coordinating with Slovakia on evacuation efforts for Czechs in Israel and Jordan, advising citizens to register with the DROZD travel system. Due to the closure of Israeli airspace, travelers are urged to monitor flight updates closely and consider overland exit routes via Jordan or Egypt, though travel warnings against Israel, Lebanon, Jordan, and Iran have been issued due to safety concerns. These measures come amid heightened tensions marked by Iranian missile strikes and retaliatory Israeli actions, prompting several governments to evacuate their nationals and caution against travel to the region. Poland is also organizing evacuation efforts for around 200 citizens from Israel via Jordan as the conflict intensifies.
