Man Fatally Shot at Cornerstone Parking Group Lot
A man in his 40s was shot and killed early Thursday after confronting a suspected car thief in the fenced employee parking lot of Cornerstone Parking Group in the Seward neighborhood at the 2600 block of 32nd Ave S. The brief confrontation occurred about 6:30 a.m., and a coworker found the victim roughly 20 minutes later; officers and medics attempted lifesaving measures but he was pronounced dead at the scene. Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O’Hara called the killing senseless and said no property is worth a life. Investigators are reviewing surveillance footage and following several leads but have made no arrests. Police asked anyone with information about the shooting or related vehicle thefts to come forward.
