Youngstown Woman Charged With Ninth Homicide Shooting Girlfriend

A 22-year-old woman was found shot to death in her apartment on the 2600 block of Tyrell Avenue in Youngstown, Ohio, in what police are describing as a domestic homicide. The victim's live-in girlfriend, Devyonna L. Taylor, also 22, was arrested and charged with murder following the incident, which occurred early Saturday morning. Despite life-saving efforts by first responders, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene. The Youngstown Police Department's Detective Bureau and Crime Scene Unit are actively investigating the case. This shooting marks the ninth homicide in Youngstown this year, highlighting a recent increase in violent crime after a period of relatively low homicide numbers. The incident took place in the Valley View Estates apartment complex, situated near the intersection of the 711 Connector and Interstate 680.
