AI Logistics Startup Augment Raises $85M Series A for Freight Automation

San Francisco-based AI logistics startup Augment has raised an $85 million Series A funding round led by Redpoint Ventures, bringing its total capital raised to $110 million since emerging from stealth mode five months ago. Founded by Harish Abbott, co-founder of Deliverr which was acquired by Shopify for $2.1 billion, Augment developed Augie, an AI assistant designed to automate time-consuming logistics tasks such as pricing bids, shipment tracking, load consolidation, and invoice collection, operating across multiple communication channels. The company aims to expand Augie’s capabilities to cover more end-to-end workflows for shippers, brokers, carriers, and investors, while scaling its engineering and global trade management teams significantly by late 2025. Augment has more than doubled its customer base since its seed round, with clients like Armstrong Transport Group reporting a 40% reduction in invoice delays due to Augie's assistance. The startup envisions expanding beyond the U.S. trucking industry into international shipping markets, continuing to enhance productivity and streamline communication within the logistics ecosystem. Augment’s team includes veterans from Shopify, Google, Flexport, and AI research labs, emphasizing the company’s commitment to transforming freight operations through AI innovation.
