Jeff Buckley’s Mother Reveals Singer’s Long Life Dreams Before 1997 Death
Jeff Buckley, the influential '90s rock icon known for his haunting voice and the album Grace, tragically drowned in 1997 at the age of 30. His former girlfriend, Rebecca Moore, who remained loyal until his death, recently opened up about their relationship and his mental health struggles, sharing her pride in their bond despite the pain it entailed. The new documentary It’s Never Over, Jeff Buckley, directed by Amy Berg, explores Buckley’s impactful career, strained relationship with his father Tim Buckley, and the events leading to his untimely death. Buckley’s mother, Mary Guibert, revealed that he dreamed of living a long life and continuing to perform, even imagining being onstage in a wheelchair, highlighting the depth of his passion for music. Despite releasing only one album, Buckley’s legacy has influenced artists such as Adele, Coldplay, Lana Del Rey, and Radiohead. The documentary aims to celebrate the tender and complex man behind the music and will be released in theaters on August 8.
