Kali Audio Launches DSP-Powered HP-1 Headphones with Multi-Reference Modes
Kali Audio has introduced its first over-ear headphones, the HP-1, which are designed for both studio mixing and everyday use by offering three distinct voicings: Studio mode for accurate and transparent sound, Bass-Heavy mode to emulate headphones favored by hip-hop and EDM fans, and Consumer mode to replicate popular headphones used with phones and computers. Users can easily switch between these modes via a button, with visual and voice indicators confirming the active setting. The HP-1 headphones feature a closed-back design with 40mm drivers, active noise cancelling, wireless calling, and physical playback controls, supporting both wired (3.5mm jack) and Bluetooth connections, with up to 40 hours of battery life. This multi-reference capability aims to help audio professionals ensure their mixes sound good across different headphone types without needing multiple pairs. Additionally, Cambridge Audio has updated its Melomania P100 wireless ANC headphones with the Special Edition, enhancing bass dynamics, comfort, and adding support for Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Sound and aptX Lossless codec for high-quality Bluetooth playback. Both products reflect ongoing innovation in headphone technology catering to both audiophiles and casual listeners.
