At the 2025 Laureus World Sports Awards in Madrid, Simone Biles was named Sportswoman of the Year for a record-tying fourth time, matching Serena Williams, after a triumphant comeback from her post-Tokyo hiatus and winning three gold and one silver medal at the Paris 2024 Olympics. Swedish pole vaulter Mondo Duplantis earned Sportsman of the Year, following back-to-back Olympic golds and multiple world records. Brazilian gymnast Rebeca Andrade was honored with Comeback of the Year for her return from injury. Real Madrid and football prodigy Lamine Yamal were also recognized for their achievements. Simone Biles' appearance in a gown by Eman Alajlan drew attention from celebrities and Olympians.
