Cam Ward Shines in Titans' Preseason Loss
Cam Ward, the Tennessee Titans' No. 1 overall draft pick, made an impressive preseason debut by leading a 65-yard touchdown drive and completing five of eight passes for 67 yards, despite the Titans falling 29-7 to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Ward showed early chemistry with veteran receiver Calvin Ridley, who caught three passes for 50 yards. Head coach Brian Callahan noted progress but stressed improvements are needed in timing and ball release. The Titans' offensive line, bolstered by newcomers Dan Moore Jr. and Kevin Zeitler, provided better protection, though injuries linger with running back Tyjae Spears sidelined for several weeks. The backup quarterback race has intensified between Brandon Allen and Tim Boyle following Will Levis being ruled out for the season. James Proche currently leads Xavier Restrepo for the final wide receiver spot as the team looks ahead to its next preseason game.
