Severe Storms Expected Across Southeastern US This Weekend
A strong cold front is bringing increased chances of rain and severe storms from Texas and Oklahoma through the Southeast and into the Ohio Valley and Northeast as the weekend approaches. The most significant threats include damaging winds, hail, heavy rainfall, and isolated street flooding, especially Friday evening into Saturday morning across regions such as South Carolina, Louisiana, Tennessee, and parts of Ohio. The Storm Prediction Center has placed several areas under marginal to slight risks for severe weather, with localized Level 2 out of 5 threats noted in Memphis and southeast Ohio. Storms will generally become more isolated by Saturday afternoon as the front passes, with lingering showers and decreasing severity expected into Sunday. Temperatures remain above average ahead of the front but will cool slightly over the weekend as drier conditions return. Residents are advised to stay updated on evolving forecasts due to the potential for impactful weather.
