Mild Halloween Weather; High Wind Watch in Montana
Most regions will see pleasant Halloween conditions — clear skies and cool, sweater‑weather evenings ideal for trick‑or‑treating in New Orleans, Acadiana/Lafayette, Middle Tennessee (Nashville) and Memphis. Daytime highs generally reach the 60s (into the low 70s in parts of Louisiana), falling into the 50s or even 40s after sunset. A weak system will approach over the weekend, bringing only a few light, off‑and‑on showers mainly along the Gulf Coast and southeast Louisiana, with only slight rain chances for Memphis and other inland areas. Montana will be cool and dry on Halloween under a ridge of high pressure, but winds will increase late tonight into the weekend with a High Wind Watch for much of north‑central Montana Saturday afternoon through Sunday (west–southwest gusts 60–80 mph), and the best precipitation chances focused in the northwest and higher terrain along the Montana–Idaho border. Tropical system Melissa is weakening as it heads toward Newfoundland, and local advisories also remind residents to set clocks back for the end of Daylight Saving Time.
