Glasgow DJ John Reid Dies Age 61 Songwriter Behind Major Hits
John Reid, the renowned Glasgow-born DJ, producer, vocalist, and songwriter behind the 90s dance hit 'Push The Feeling On' with Nightcrawlers, has died suddenly at the age of 61. Reid had a prolific songwriting career, co-writing hits such as Tina Turner's 'When the Heartache Is Over,' Westlife's UK No.1 'Unbreakable,' and 'A Moment Like This,' performed by both Kelly Clarkson and Leona Lewis. He also collaborated with notable figures like Simon Cowell and Ian Levine on tracks for Bad Boys Inc, Eternal, Gemini, and Claire Richards. 'Push The Feeling On' regained popularity through remixes by artists such as JCA, Rosabot, and Big Narstie, cementing Reid's legacy in 90s dance music. Tributes poured in from close associates including Mary Kiani, Reid's former fiancée, and industry figures like Susan Boyle's vocal coach Chris Judge, who praised his soulful vocals and impact on music. Reid was also working on new material with Roy Hay of Culture Club for his band 'This Way Up' prior to his passing.
