ITV Plans 225 Staff Cuts Across Daytime Shows Including Good Morning Britain

ITV is implementing significant budget cuts that will see approximately half of the 450 staff members across flagship daytime shows such as Good Morning Britain, Lorraine, This Morning, and Loose Women laid off. Among those expected to depart is Noel Phillips, Good Morning Britain's US correspondent since 2021, whose exit has raised internal concerns about the show's on-air diversity. Phillips, a Royal Television Society award-winning journalist, has been integral in covering racial tensions in both the US and UK, including reporting from Minneapolis during protests following Daunte Wright's shooting and being struck by rubber bullets during unrest in Los Angeles. He has also publicly shared his experience of a racist attack in Central London. While there were initial worries about other presenters like Sean Fletcher and Marverine Cole, ITV has confirmed they will remain with the program. An ITV spokesperson emphasized the company’s commitment to diversity and stated that the familiar line-up of presenters will continue into 2026 despite the cuts.
