Two Deadly Shootings Reported, Including Carrollton

Two separate deadly shootings were reported Sunday, one in Wicomico County, Maryland, and another in Carrollton, Georgia. In Wicomico County, a woman was killed and a man injured in a shooting at a home on North Westover Drive; authorities later located a suspect in Salisbury, and the Maryland Office of the Attorney General’s Independent Investigations Division is probing an officer-involved shooting related to the case. Maryland State Police’s Homicide Unit and crime-scene technicians are continuing to investigate the Wicomico County incident. In Carrollton, a fight on 6th Street shortly before 1:30 a.m. escalated into gunfire, killing 26-year-old Lareon Brown of Carrollton and wounding two others, one taken by ambulance and another by private vehicle to Atlanta-area hospitals. Carrollton police have released few details about suspects or motive and are asking anyone with information to contact the department.
