Botafogo Signs Argentina's Correa from Inter for Club World Cup

Botafogo has secured Argentine forward Joaquin Correa on a free transfer following the expiration of his contract with Inter Milan. Correa, who struggled to make a significant impact during his four-year stint at Inter and a loan spell at Olympique Marseille, has signed a deal with Botafogo until the end of 2027 and will wear the number 30 shirt. He will join Botafogo's squad in the United States ahead of the FIFA Club World Cup, where the club will face tough competition in Group B against Atletico Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, and Seattle Sounders. Correa made 99 appearances for Inter, scoring 12 goals and providing nine assists, but was mostly a marginal figure in his final season. Despite a promising start at Inter, including a memorable brace early on, his tenure was marked by underwhelming performances, leading to his departure.
