Lauren James Expected Fit for Euro 2025 Opener
England manager Sarina Wiegman has named Lauren James in the final 23-player squad for the 2025 Women's European Championship, stating that James is progressing well from her hamstring injury and is expected to be ready for the opening match against France on July 5. Wiegman emphasized that including James is not considered a risk and confirmed a warm-up friendly against Jamaica is scheduled. Arsenal's Michelle Agyemang and Lotte Wubben-Moy are also selected, while Nikita Parris and Millie Bright miss out, with Bright stepping away to focus on her mental and physical health. The squad is announced after the international retirements of Mary Earps and Fran Kirby. Wiegman highlighted the balance of experience and debutants in the team, reflecting on the tough choices made. The Lionesses begin their training camp on June 16 before traveling to Switzerland at the end of the month.
