Clinton Township Man Pleads Guilty to Oakland County Deputy Murder

Raymone Debose, a Clinton Township man, pleaded guilty to first-degree murder and felony firearm charges for the fatal shooting of Oakland County Sheriff's Deputy Bradley Reckling during a vehicle pursuit in Detroit in June 2024. Debose, then 18, was one of three suspects in a stolen SUV, with prosecutors alleging he fired the shot that killed Reckling, who was working undercover to track a stolen Chevrolet Equinox from a local waterpark. Debose faces a prison sentence of 33 to 60 years and is scheduled for sentencing on August 22, 2025. Co-defendants Karim Moore and Marquis Goins also pleaded guilty to related felony charges, with Moore already sentenced and Goins awaiting sentencing. Deputy Reckling, a nine-year veteran and father of three with a fourth child on the way, was ambushed and shot multiple times in the head, chest, and torso during the incident. The case highlights the lethal risks law enforcement officers face in pursuing car theft and criminal enterprises across Michigan counties.
