British Teacher's Dramatic Escape from Trinidad Kidnapping

Zaheer Esat, a British teacher and director of a private school in Leicestershire, was kidnapped at gunpoint in Trinidad but managed a dramatic escape by jumping out of the boot of a car during his captivity. The incident occurred while he was visiting his parents, with the kidnapper blocking his vehicle and forcibly taking him. His father issued urgent pleas for his release due to Esat's asthma condition. Two days later, Esat was found by a passer-by at a cremation site and taken to the police, where he recounted his escape. A 28-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the kidnapping. The UK Foreign Office has been involved, providing support and liaising with local authorities.
